Danie Moore

Danie is a junior in the College of Arts & Sciences from Reading, PA, studying Communication and English. She is happy to be entering her second year on UME’s board, having previously served as Communication Chair. When she’s not overseeing UME’s events, she serves as the Web Editor-in-Chief of The WALK Magazine, Penn’s student-run fashion and art publication. You can also catch her onstage, indulging her musical theater obsession, as a performing member of Penn Singers Light Opera Company. Danie hopes to work in TV & Film development or entertainment journalism.

Lindsay Matalon

Lindsay is a sophomore in the Wharton School studying Marketing and Operations, Information, and Decisions and minoring in Cinema and Media Studies. She has always had an appreciation for the creative side of film and television content production, but has found a passion for the business strategy end of the industry. She hopes to one day work in corporate strategy, business development, or brand management for studios and companies geared toward media, entertainment, and technology.

Caroline Ohlson

Caroline is a junior in the College of Arts & Sciences from Providence, RI, pursuing an Individualized Major called Arts, Entertainment, and Popular Culture and a minor in Economics. Outside of UME, she’s a member of the Panhellenic Council, ASAP, PAVE, Chi Omega, and Order of Omega. Caroline is excited to move to LA after graduation and pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Katie Marshall

Katie is a sophomore majoring in Communication and minoring in Cinema and Media Studies and Consumer Psychology. She is a cast member of Bloomers (Penn’s Premiere All-Female Musical and Sketch Comedy Troupe- try saying that three times fast) and Editor of 34th Street’s Low Brow section. Katie also tutors at the Writing Center where she lives and breathes post-outlines and lit reviews like a pro. In her free time she likes to dedicate conversations to discussing Stephen Sondheim or Greek mythology.

Scott Rubenstein

Scott Rubenstein is excited to serve as Professional Development Chair for UME! He is originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, and is a member of the class of 2019 studying Communication and Political Science in the College. Scott is passionate about scripted television and hopes to be an Emmy-award winning TV writer and producer one day!

Sammy is a junior in the College of Arts and Science from Connecticut. She is majoring in Cinema and Media Studies. This is her first year serving on the UME board as Co-Chair for our annual conference. She hopes to pursue a career in either film/tv development or work at a talent agency.

Laurel Jaffe

Laurel is a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Communication and Cinema and Media Studies. She has past experience working on nature and social short films that document the impact of climate change on a society or environment. She is very interested in virtual reality film journalism and hopes to one-day work in creating news stories with the virtual reality medium. You can also find Laurel hiking in the woods, as she is a PennQuest leader (Penn’s hiking Pre-Orientation program) and loves to enjoy all elements of nature.

Sari Panzer

 Sari is a sophomore in the College majoring in Communication with a minor in Consumer Psychology.  In addition to UME, she is involved in MUSE and SPEC Connaissance.  When she’s not visiting Walt Disney World in her hometown of Orlando, Florida, she can be found exploring the city, making jewelry, and hosting movie nights in her apartment.  She hopes to pursue a career in entertainment marketing and looks forward to getting to know other members of UME who share her passions!
Jennifer Chen


Class of 2020


Jennifer is a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences pursuing a major in Cinema and Media Studies. She is a die-hard fan of YouTube videos and hopes to one day work in the online content industry. Other organizations she is passionate about are SPEC Film Society, Wharton Women, and University Scholars. When she isn’t making films for clubs and her channels, she’s probably traveling or trying new foods.
