Gabby Abramowitz

Gabby Abramowitz a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences hailing from Tenafly, New Jersey (which, she likes to remind everyone, is “basically New York City”). She’s majoring in History and a minoring in Consumer Psychology, and on campus is involved with the International Affairs Association, the Vagina Monologues, Alpha Chi Omega sorority, and Kite & Key. When she’s not predicting Oscar winners or binge-watching shows on Netflix, Gabby can be found cracking bad jokes and exploring the Philadelphia restaurant scene. This is her second year on the board of the Undergraduate Media & Entertainment Club, and she’s thrilled to welcome new members and see the club grow in 2015!

Evie is a senior in the college majoring in Communications and Economics and is so excited to be in her third year on UME board! Her activities outside of UME include West Philadelphia Tutoring Project and Simply Chaos, Penn’s stand-up comedy group. Her dream is to live in NYC and has since interned there at companies like Viacom and She hopes to one day work on the business end of the entertainment industry.

Nick is a Junior from Findlay, Ohio studying Behavioral Economics and Finance. He is also involved with Simply Chaos and Bent Button Productions on campus. He is excited to be a part of UME and hopes to go professionally into the entertainment industry one day.

Caroline is a sophomore from Westchester, NY majoring in Communications and minoring in Cinema Studies. In addition to UME, she is involved in UTV Promotions and SPEC Connaissance. She is excited to be a Conference Chair and hopes to work in the entertainment industry after graduating.
Hallie Brookman

Hallie Brookman is a Junior in the College of Arts and Sciences, hailing from sunny Los Angeles. She is a Cinema Studies Major, and is excited to be on the Board of UME. In addition to UME, she is a member of Arts House Dance Company, Sigma Delta Tau, and a staff writer on 34th Street Magazine. When she’s not playing with her fluffy dog Gatsby, (she named him after the character herself), you can find her adding movies and checking others off as she works her way down her extensive “Must See” movie list (her favorites being When Harry Met Sally and You’ve Got Mail…yes…she’s a sucker for romcoms too). After finishing college, Hallie plans on returning to Tinseltown to continue pursuing a career in the entertainment industry…and that’s a wrap.

I am a Sophomore in the College, and I am a tentative Econ major Consumer Psych minor. I am from New York, and I am also involved in Black Wharton and Write On! and I enjoy doing anything creative and/or watching It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and my Tumblr dashboard. I hope to one day work in the entertainment industry, either on the business side or the performing side.
Lisa Wang

Lisa(Xingyi) Wang is a freshman in College. She grew up in Shanghai, China and went to a boarding school in Massachusetts.  Lisa has been very interested in entertainment industry and theater arts. She acted in a production by Penn China Theater last semester and is doing another one this semester. On campus, Lisa is also involved in Global China Connection, helping organize annual UPenn China Forum, and in Wharton Investing and Trading Club. Lisa is very excited to join in UME Board this semester and hope to organize more “cool” events for UME Members.

Alaya Mazon

Alaya is a sophomore at The Wharton School from Istanbul, Turkey. She’s concentrating in Behavioural Economics, OPIM and minoring in Consumer Psychology. You can always find her excessively excited to talk about brands, movies or tv shows. She has a long list of TV shows she keeps track of, even though it’s physically impossible for her to watch all of them. Outside of UME, she’s involved in Alpha Phi Omega (the community service fraternity), PennApps and More Love Letters, which is a very new club. 

Jenna Wang

Jenna Wang is a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences with plans to major in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, and minor in Consumer Psychology. A nomad since birth, she is “from” several places, but has most recently lived for five years in Detroit. When not obsessing over Christopher Nolan or trying to convince people that NBC Hannibal is a normal show to like, Jenna can be found writing fiction, reading George Orwell essays, or strategically trying to save her Penn Dining meal swipes. She is so excited to be a part of UME this year, and looks forward to co-organizing the Penn Film Festival!

Abi Raymaker

Abi is a Wharton sophomore new to the UME board this year. Outside of UME, she plays clarinet in the Penn Band, writes for the student radio, is the videographer for Wharton Women, and is a new member of Penn Club Gymnastics! She loves music and movies and hopes to one day work in business within the music or film industry. This past summer, she interned for a music company called TouchTunes and got to meet Luke Bryan!

Ali Ahmed is a senior, originally from the Scranton, PA area (aka home of The Office). He is also the Alumni Outreach Chair for the Undergraduate Screenwriting Guild. He attended the 2015 Cannes Film Festival this year through the Penn-in-Cannes program, and also interned this past summer at New Horizons Pictures. He was a background actor in Creed, the upcoming Rocky sequel shot in Philadelphia. And he is in the works of writing a kick-ass feature drama spec!
Phoebe Yun

Phoebe is a sophomore at The Wharton School concentrating in marketing, but she is also going to minor in design. She is a photographer who takes photos with her iPhone 5s and she is also a ”matchaholic.” So by chance you will either see her capturing lovely moments in life or raiding all the Green Tea Kit Kats at Chinatown’s Chinese market. Outside of UME, she plays in PennDure, a Korean traditional music band, and she is also the Internal Director of Wharton China Association.
